Corporate Support

The many ways companies help our work

The HSUS works with many corporations that share our vision of a more humane society. Our corporate supporters help increase our reach through activities that generate revenue and/or otherwise promote our mission—giving consumers more ways to support our cause.

Types of Corporate Relationships

The HSUS continually reviews proposals from companies that want to benefit our organization either through long-term or short-term revenue-generating promotions. For all relationships, The HSUS requires a contract specifying the terms of the program or promotion. Under no circumstance may the registered trademarks of The HSUS be used without express written permission. Below are some examples of the types of corporate alliances we have.

Cause Marketing/Trademark License

Cause marketing (also called commercial co-venture or charitable sales promotion) allows individuals to support a charity by purchasing your company’s products. Certain states regulate this type of promotion. You must clearly state the percentage of the sales price or specific dollar amount that will be donated as a result of the sale. Cause marketing requires a trademark license—a grant to use the HSUS name and/or logo in conjunction with the advertising, packaging and/or product itself. For more, email

The HSUS has an array of sponsorship opportunities for our national events, animal care centers, and our national and global programs and campaigns, providing you with a variety of benefits. For more, email

Workplace/Payroll Giving

Feature The HSUS during your organization’s Workplace Payroll Giving Campaign. Workplace giving programs allow employees to make regular donations to eligible charities through their company’s payroll system, without losing the tax benefits of charitable giving. Employees can contribute a set amount per paycheck or make a one-time gift. Often companies will also match their employees’ payroll donations.

Advertising and Contest Sponsorship

Reach an audience of more than 1.5 million readers through All Animals, the award-winning bimonthly membership magazine of The HSUS. Your message will be read by discerning, intelligent, influential consumers: Over 57 percent of its readers are college graduates and higher; 86.85 female/13.15 male readership; nearly 94 percent ages 35+; average household income $79,200; more than 92 percent pet owners. You’ll also benefit from lead generation and email opt-ins, brand promotions, and the ability to offer product discounts and messaging to attendees, and you’ll be seen as an industry leader.
