Information Services Specialist

The Humane Society of The United States (HSUS), the nation’s most effective animal protection organization, is seeking an Information Services Specialist for the Information Systems department. This position is responsible for creating reports and selecting data files utilizing Structured Query Language (SQL); analyzing constituent system data, uploads, downloads and reporting for accuracy.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Translating and tracking user data pulling requests to maintain mailing schedule;
  • Creating scripts for data selections and reports as required for organizational functionality;
  • Processing data uploads and downloads as required for system functionality;
  • Validating data selection results to ensure accuracy;
  • Working with Information Systems Director to determine system database needs and solutions.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required;
  • Minimum 2 years Information Systems/Technology experience required;
  • Knowledge of database architecture;
  • Programming experience preferably with SQL;
  • Experience with reports building, query creation;
  • Experience using File Transfer Protocol (FTP), to process uploads and downloads;
  • Understanding of data warehouse methodology;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Excellent organizational and interpretation skills;
  • High degree of accuracy and precision;
  • Understanding of donor civilization and stewardship programs helpful.
